    4. Remove any unused or unneeded Documents.  Removing apps will require admin creds

  2. Empty the Trash

    1. Right-click the Trash Bin in your Dock.

    2. Select Empty Trash.

  3. Clean Up Downloads

    1. Open Finder.

    2. Go to your Downloads folder.

    3. Delete or move files you no longer need (installers, large PDFs, etc.).

  4. Find and Delete Large Files

    1. In Finder, press Command () + F.

    2. Click Kind > choose Other… > pick File Size.

    3. Search for files larger than 500 MB.

    4. Delete or move files you don’t need.

  5. Use the Built-in “Manage Storage” Tool

    1. Click the Apple Menu  > System Settings > General > Storage > Manage.

    2. There should be a 'Recommendations' section where you can enable the following:

Optimize Storage: Remove watched TV shows/movies.

Empty Trash Automatically: Deletes items after 30 days.

  6. Shutdown Your Mac

After cleanup, power your Mac off for ~5 mins, this will allow your Mac to refresh available space.
