# Resolving Apple Mail Pop-Up Notifications for Inactive Exchange Accounts
If you're experiencing persistent pop-up notifications from Apple Mail regarding an Exchange account that you are not actively using, you're not alone. This issue can be quite frustrating, but fortunately, there is a straightforward solution. By removing the inactive Exchange account from Apple Mail, you can stop these pop-ups without affecting your Outlook setup or any Microsoft 365 applications.
### Steps to Remove the Inactive Exchange Account from Apple Mail:
1. **Click the Apple Icon → System Settings**
Begin by clicking on the Apple icon located in the top left corner of your screen. From the drop-down menu, select "System Settings." This will open the settings menu where you can manage various system preferences.
2. **Find "Internet Accounts" in the Sidebar**
In the System Settings menu, look for "Internet Accounts" listed in the sidebar. This section allows you to manage all the accounts that your Mac uses to connect to the internet, including email accounts.
3. **Click on the Exchange Account Entry**
Once you are in the Internet Accounts section, you will see a list of all the accounts linked to your Mac. Locate the Exchange account that you wish to remove. Click on it to highlight the account and access its settings.
4. **Select "Delete Account"**
After selecting the Exchange account, look for the option to "Delete Account." Click on this option. If any pop-ups appear asking for confirmation, simply dismiss them to proceed with the deletion.
### Important Note:
Removing the Exchange account from Apple Mail will only affect Apple Mail itself. Your Outlook account and all Microsoft 365 applications will remain completely unaffected. This means you can continue using Outlook without any interruptions or loss of data.
