# This is a Mac Permissions Issue: Enable Screen Recording for Teams
If you're experiencing issues with screen sharing in Microsoft Teams on your Mac, it may be due to permissions settings. Follow the steps below to ensure that Teams has the necessary permissions to record your screen.
1. **Click the Apple Icon → System Settings**
Start by clicking on the Apple icon located in the top-left corner of your screen. From the dropdown menu, select "System Settings." This will open the settings window where you can manage various system preferences.
2. **Go to Privacy & Security → Screen and System Audio Recording**
In the System Settings, navigate to the "Privacy & Security" section. Here, you will find options related to various permissions. Look for "Screen and System Audio Recording" to manage which applications have access to record your screen and audio.
3. **If Microsoft Teams is Not Listed, Click the "+" Button and Add It from Your Applications Folder**
If you do not see Microsoft Teams listed in the Screen Recording section, don’t worry! Simply click the "+" button to add it. This will open your Applications folder. Locate Microsoft Teams, select it, and click "Open" to grant it the necessary permissions.
4. **Make Sure the Toggle Next to Microsoft Teams is Turned On**
After adding Teams, ensure that the toggle switch next to it is turned on. This step is crucial as it allows Teams to access your screen for sharing during meetings.
5. **Restart Teams and Test Screen Sharing Again**
Once you have adjusted the permissions, close Microsoft Teams completely and restart the application. After restarting, test the screen sharing feature again to see if the issue has been resolved.
