This is a known Acrobat bug caused by a corrupted recent files cache. Try the following fixes in order:
1. Clear Recent Files list:
Edit → Preferences → General → uncheck "Show recent files" → OK → restart Acrobat → re-enable the setting
2. Update Acrobat:
Open Adobe Creative Cloud → Apps → find Acrobat → update if available
3. Clear Acrobat's cache (advanced):
Quit Acrobat completely, then delete these folders via Finder → Go → Go to Folder:
~/Library/Caches/com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro
~/Library/Saved Application State/com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.savedState
(These folders regenerate automatically on next launch)
If this doesn't help: Submit a helpdesk ticket — IT can connect remotely to try additional preference file fixes.
